Who We Are
Sustainable Innovation and Development Solutions (SIDES) is a leading social impact organization dedicated to designing innovative, sustainable solutions to Nigeria’s and Africa’s most pressing social and development challenges. We empower individuals, communities, government agencies, and civil society organizations (CSOs) through leadership development, advocacy, capacity building, mentorship, and digital innovation.
SIDES works to support government, communities, partners, NGOs/CSOs, development partners, vulnerable populations, women and youth and students; ensuring access to essential services, health care, education, skills development, innovation, opportunities and social protection and more. We provide organizational strengthening and technical support to emerging and local organizations to improve service delivery and promote inclusive growth.
Through targeted advocacy and public engagement, SIDES addresses systemic gaps, promotes social inclusion, and facilitates access to free or subsidized health insurance for underserved communities and general sustainable development framework including UN-SDGs, AU Agenda 2063 etc. Our holistic approach combines innovation, sustainability, and measurable impact to create resilient communities and foster equitable development across Northern Nigeria.

What We Do

Innovation, Digital Transformation, and Future Skills
SIDES promotes the use of emerging technologies and digital tools to accelerate development and prepare communities for the future. We provide training and capacity development in digital innovation, artificial intelligence, content creation, digital entrepreneurship, and responsible technology use. Through these initiatives, we equip youth, students, professionals, and organizations with the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving global economy.

Leadership Development and Problem-Solving
We cultivate a new generation of ethical and solution-driven leaders. SIDES organizes leadership academies, mentorship programs, and practical training that strengthen critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and civic engagement among youth, students, and community leaders. Our programs help individuals develop the confidence and skills needed to lead positive change in their communities.

Protection and Support for Vulnerable Populations
SIDES works with Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), conflict-affected communities, women, youth, and marginalized groups to strengthen resilience and restore opportunities. Our initiatives focus on education access, livelihood development, psychosocial support, health outreach, and community dialogue to promote stability and social cohesion.

Institutional Strengthening and Capacity Building
SIDES supports government institutions, NGOs, and community-based organizations through technical assistance, strategic planning, training, and governance support. We help organizations improve service delivery, enhance accountability, and build sustainable systems that can effectively respond to development challenges.

Youth Empowerment, Mentorship, and Entrepreneurship
We empower young people through mentorship, leadership development, innovation training, and entrepreneurship support. Our programs provide career guidance, skills development, idea incubation, and access to opportunities that help youth become productive contributors to society and drivers of economic growth.

Health Systems Strengthening and Social Protection
SIDES collaborates with health institutions and partners to improve access to essential health services, including maternal and child health, family planning, and community health programs. We also advocate for expanded access to free or subsidized health insurance for underserved populations and individuals living with chronic conditions such as sickle cell disease.

Support for Emerging and Community Organizations
We strengthen the ecosystem of local development actors by providing mentorship, technical support, small grants, and resource mobilization guidance to emerging NGOs and community-based organizations, enabling them to scale their impact and serve their communities more effectively.
